The Fashionable World of Isaac Bonan

We are proud to introduce you to the aesthetically beautiful and fashionably dreamy work of talented artist Isaac Bonan. Situated in France, Bonan's work focuses predominately on fashion illustrations, commercial graphic design and artistic exhibitions. This season, we wanted to collaborate with an artist and create whimiscial, luxe and visually fascinating works of art. To us, fashion is about expression, love and beauty, and what better way is there to express our vision other than to illustrate it?

With a focus on our latest Autumn / Winter Dancer in the Dark collection, Bonan has created some magical art works of garments from the range.

We asked the talented artist some questions on why he wanted to collaborate with Hussy on this project...

Isaac Bonan Interview

Why did you want to work with Hussy?

I was very exited about drawing the artworks, as I knew that Hussy is one of Australia's leading fashion brands. The real challenge was to create the right look and feel that is perfectly aligned with the Hussy world. As I love beautiful garments, I found them very inspiring too… not to mention that my girlfriend loves Hussy too!

What inspired you for your concept?

I wanted to enhance and illuminate both the Hussy girl and clothes at the same time. But I would like to admit that the colours, prints and designs of the Hussy dresses were enough to inspire me!!!

What did you enjoy most about this project?

My favourite bit was trying to find the right balance in my compositions and the right mood corresponding to each dress.

Five words that describe me...

Perfectionist, dreamer, enthusiastic, beauty lover, hard-worker.

If I wasn’t an illustrator I would be…

Probably a "cosmic dancer".

I would describe my style as…

Poetic and magical.

My biggest inspiration…

To name a few artists, David Downton, Raymond Moretti, Dennis Mukai, Drew Struzan.

Currently I am working on…

An editorial feature, private commissions (portraits) and I'm going to start the next installment of the Hussy illustrations!

One illustrating / creative tip would be…

Trying to find his/her own style to be easily identified by all.

The best lesson that I have learnt along the way is…

Always believe in my dreams.

My guilty pleasure is…

A sweet drink of wine!!!

My favourite Hussy piece is?

Hard to tell, but I have got a preference for the Noctural dreaming Maxi in Cerulean Blue!

I love that color and shape. Besides I was very inspired by this dress.
